The couple got the big bedroom, I got the sofa bed: same price?

My side
Five of us rented a cabin in the Smoky Mountains for a week. Total price split five equal ways, as usual. The cabin has two bedrooms and a sofa bed in the living room. A couple we’re friends with took the big bedroom with its own bathroom, two friends took the room with twin beds. That left the sofa bed for me, in the living room, woken up every morning by the coffee maker and the early risers. I suggested either paying a little less or switching spots halfway through the week. The couple said it’s normal for a couple to get a room, and that my idea of paying less was petty.
Their side
The couple explains that they’re two people in one bed, so they take up the same space as one person. They think it makes sense for the bedrooms to go to the people sharing a bed. They also point out that on our last trip, they took the air mattress without complaining. According to them, counting square feet between friends ruins the vibe.
