My friend brought her new boyfriend to our beach house without asking

My side
Eight of us had rented a big house on the Outer Banks for a week: eight beds, including the living room sofa bed where I slept, and eight equal shares, all booked since winter. Two days before we left, a friend posts in the group chat: “I’m bringing my new boyfriend, he’s awesome, you’ll love him!” Nobody had been asked. There were no beds left, so he slept on an air mattress in the living room, three feet from my sofa. He paid his share of the groceries, not the rental. He’s nice, really. But he got up at 6 a.m. to go running. On day three, I told my friend I wish we’d been asked first. She called me “closed off.”
Their side
My friend explains that the house was big, that an extra mattress didn’t cost anyone anything, and that she didn’t want to spend a week away from him at the start of their relationship. She thought her friends would be happy to meet him. According to her, asking permission from seven people to bring someone along is a little infantilizing between adults.
