Dish strike in our apartment: who should give in first?

My side
There are four of us sharing an apartment. One day, I noticed I was doing everyone’s dishes. So I stopped. To make a point. Except the other three had the exact same idea, at the exact same time. Result: the sink is overflowing, the pile reaches the faucet, and everyone washes only their own fork, then hides it in their room. One night, I saw a roommate eating pasta out of a pot lid. Nobody wants to give in, because giving in means losing. Me, I’m holding strong. I even bought paper plates.
Their side
My roommates each have their own version: one says she did the dishes more often than me, another says he cooks for everyone on weekends, the last one says he always takes out the trash. They all think they started the strike for a good reason. According to them, whoever makes the biggest mess should wash first, and everyone thinks that’s someone else.
So, who's wrong?
