My roommate turned our living room into his office: who’s right?

My side
My roommate works from home four days a week. His room is tiny, so he sets up in the living room, from 9 to 6. Big monitor, keyboard, headset, and Zoom calls all day. I work odd hours and I’m often home in the afternoon. I can’t watch TV anymore, or cook without worrying about clanging pots, or even walk through the room in my pajamas, because his coworkers see me in the background. I feel like a guest in my own home. I asked him to work in his room. He told me there’s no space for a desk.
Their side
My roommate explains that his room is about 100 square feet, with his bed and dresser already in it, and that he tried working sitting on his bed for weeks and wrecked his back. He pays his share of the living room just like I do. According to him, he has no other option for now, but he’s willing to clear out of the room some afternoons.
