My side

My little brother doesn’t have a car. I do. So about twice a month, he borrows it to see his friends or help someone move. I always say yes. But every time, he brings it back with the gas light on. Not a little low: running on fumes. Once, I left for work at 7 a.m. and had to drive to the gas station with my fingers crossed. He also leaves the seat pushed all the way back and the radio blasting a station I’ve never heard of. I told him next time the answer is no unless he fills it up. He thinks I’m getting cheap.

Their side

According to him, he always puts some gas in, about ten bucks each time, whatever he can afford. He’s a college student, money is tight, and he thinks family should help each other out. He reminds me he helped me paint my whole apartment, an entire weekend, without asking for anything. To him, counting gallons between brother and sister is kind of sad.
