My side
My boyfriend gets up at 7. In theory. In practice, his alarm goes off at 6:15, then every five minutes, seven times in a row. I start work at 9. So every morning, I live through seven alarms. I’ve tried everything: calm conversations, earplugs, threatening to sleep on the couch. Nothing. So one night, I put his phone in the kitchen, so he’d have to get up to turn it off. Except he didn’t hear it at all. He woke up at 8:20, panicking, and got to work late. He’s furious. Me, I’ve rarely slept so well.
Their side
He admits seven alarms is a lot. But he explains he needs to wake up gradually, or he’s grumpy all morning. According to him, moving his phone without telling him was a trap, not a solution. He had to explain being late to his manager, and he thinks I could have talked to him before going full commando.
