I swapped my place card at the wedding: is that a big deal?

My side
At a friend’s wedding, I saw the seating chart when we got to the reception. I’d been put at the “singles table,” with six people I didn’t know, way in the back, next to the speakers. My college friends were at the next table, and there was an empty chair. Discreetly, I moved my place card to their table. I had an amazing night. The next day, the bride texted me that she’d spent weeks on that chart, that my original table had a gap in the middle, and that one of the singles ended up alone at one end. I really didn’t think anyone would notice.
Their side
The bride explains that she seated every guest thinking about who would get along, and that she put me at that table precisely because I love meeting new people. The empty chair was for a guest arriving in time for dessert. According to her, if I didn’t like my seat, I just had to ask her that day: she would have found a solution.
