I sold my boyfriend’s old hoodie on Marketplace: am I wrong?

My side

My boyfriend owns a hoodie from high school. Gray, or at least it used to be. The sleeves have holes, the collar is gone, and he wears it every single weekend. For three years, I offered to replace it. I even bought him a new one, almost identical, that he never wore. So one Saturday while he was at his soccer game, I listed it on Facebook Marketplace, in a bundle of old clothes, for two dollars. Gone in an hour. I figured he wouldn’t even notice. He noticed that same night. Ever since, he looks at me like I sold the cat.

Their side

He says it’s not about the hoodie, it’s about respect. It was his, and he’d told me clearly he wanted to keep it. That hoodie reminds him of high school and his best buddies. He’s never thrown out my stuff, not even the shoes I haven’t worn in years. And he finds the two-dollar price tag “honestly insulting.”
