Who's Right?

I have all my packages delivered to my retired neighbor: too much?

A story made up by our editors to get the debate going, not a real account.

My side

I work all day, and I order a lot online. My neighbor across the hall is retired and often home. One day, a delivery driver left one of my packages with her, and she kindly held it for me. I thought that was genius. Since then, I write in the delivery instructions: “leave with neighbor across the hall.” She holds everything, I pick up my packages in the evening, and sometimes I bring her chocolates to say thanks. She’s never said no. But I heard from the building super that she didn’t dare go grocery shopping in the morning anymore, afraid of missing a driver. I never asked her to stay home!

Their side

My neighbor explains that she was happy to help at first, and she didn’t dare tell me it was getting to be a lot. Some days, she gets three deliveries, including huge boxes that clutter her entryway. According to her, I never really asked her opinion: I just decided she’d be my package locker.
