Who's Right?

I flew my drone over the wedding ceremony: gift or blunder?

My side

My cousin was getting married at a pretty venue in the countryside, with the ceremony out in the garden. I’d just bought a drone and had practiced all summer. I figured aerial footage would make an amazing gift. I didn’t tell anyone, to keep it a surprise. During the vows, I sent it up over the guests. The footage is gorgeous, honestly. But apparently the buzzing could be heard during the vows, the photographer had to retake several shots, and a few guests looked up at the wrong moment. Afterward, my cousin told me he wished I’d given him a heads-up. I was planning to give them the edited video.

Their side

My cousin explains that he paid a photographer and a videographer precisely so he wouldn’t have to worry about footage. On the big day, he wanted silence during the vows. He admits my shots are beautiful, but according to him, a surprise during the most important moment of the day isn’t something you improvise. One simple question the night before would have been enough.
